2020 Rich’s Ramblings:

Week 11 Results

Gobble Gobble…Thanksgiving week alert, 3 games on Thursday!

Normally I don’t enter random picks for any Thursday games, but in the holiday spirit, I will make random picks for Thursday games once we are within an hour of kickoff of the first game (11:30 am EST on Thursday).  If you happen to login later in the day, I think the site will let you change your picks for the other games up until an hour before kickoff of each game.  The three Thanksgiving Day games are the top three games on the sheet this week…the night game promises to be a barn-burner between the Ravens and the still-undefeated Steelers!

As for last week, ugh, really tough week to pick.  Two people did better than all others though…the top score was 10 points, earned by Pudge07, so he wins the Week 11 1st prize all to himself.  To show how impressive that score was, only one other player finished with 9 points—congrats to CamaDamn Cammanda CamDaMan for securing 2nd prize for the week.  Neither of these players were in the sidepool, so we have an 8-way tie of the sidepool with 8 points, creating a second rollover to Week 12.  660 bananae are on the line, so yes, really be sure to get those Thursday picks in if you are in the sidepool!

As for old news, the 4-way tie for the top in Week 10 has clarified greatly.  Pikachu wins 1st place with a “good as a coin” score of 7-7 in Week 11.  Next best is a tie between franpro and sassinator at 5-9, so they are still tied for 2nd place.  OldMan31 falls out of contention.

MurphysLaw still is king of the pool, though his lead has dropped back down to a single game.   Everyone listed in the chart below is within five games of the lead, so we should be in for a fun race.  Here are the standings at the top through Week 11.

COVID-19 news and policy

The following COVID-19 policies remain in effect.  As a reminder, this is how I intend to handle potential COVID-19 related cancelations in the football pool:

YOU are responsible to make sure the system received your picks

After you hit the ‘Submit Your Picks’ button, you will get a page that has the title “The Following Picks Have Been Received For PlayerName”.  Please print out this page, and verify that all the picks are the ones you meant to make.  The following (unfortunate) scenarios have happened in the past:

If you fill out your picks but do not hit the ‘Submit’ button, the system will not get your picks.  If you hit submit, but manage to lose internet connection before you get the confirmation page, then the system did not get your picks.  Finally, it is possible to accidently select the wrong team in the drop down box, so you might discover on Sunday that you mistakenly picked a team you did not mean to.  If you print out the confirmation page, then you will know (and have proof) that your picks are in the system.
